You can create a new form template by selecting a base layout and then selecting the form settings.

Before you begin

Create your base layout.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Area view task.
  2. Click Add an entity and select Form.
  3. Select the form from the entity browser, and click the Identity tab.
  4. In the Name field, enter a name for the form and click Apply.
  5. Click the Form tab, then click the Settings button.
  6. In the Form settings dialog box, do the following:
    1. Select the options that you want to apply to the form:
      Mandatory
      When this option is selected, the operator must fill in all of the fields in order to submit the form.
      Archive automatically
      When this option is selected, form templates are automatically archived.
      Enable manual archiving
      When this option is selected, the operator can manually archive the form template.
    2. From the Layout list, apply the base layout that you want the form to use.
    3. Click Save.
