[KBA-01101] Security Center Video Has Incorrect Timestamp when Played in Archive Player

This article explains why the timestamp for video exported from Security Center is incorrect when loaded through either the Omnicast Archive Player or the Portable Archive Player.

Symptoms

A user has exported a G64 file from Security Center. When viewing it in Security Desk, it is fine. When viewing it in either the Omnicast Archive Player or the Portable Archive Player, the timestamps are incorrect.

For example, video that says it was taken at 14h30 shows a beginning time of 21h30 (9:30PM):

Cause

When exporting a G64 from Security Center, only the Universal Time is serialized in the file. So, when the Archive Player loads the time zone data, only the Universal Time zone index is present and displayed.

None

Status

This issue is resolved in Omnicast 4.8 SR3 (and later) or the latest version of the Portable Archive Player.
