[KBA-78958] Multiple incidents on events in Genetec Mission Control™

This article explains why you might receive multiple incidents in Genetec Mission Control™ for events from the same source (for example, an access event on a door).

Symptoms

You might receive the same incident multiple times for a cardholder access event.

Cause

When a cardholder is granted or denied access at a door, one event is sent from the Security Center Directory for each cardholder group that the cardholder is a member of. As a result, two incidents are triggered for the same access event.

In addition, sometimes multiple access events are generated for the number of cardholder groups that the cardholder is a member of, multiplied by the number of areas the door is added to.

Workaround

In the Properties page of the incident type in Config Tool, turn off the Allow multiple occurrences on same source option.

Status

This issue will be resolved in Genetec Mission Control™ 2.9 GA Cumulative Hotfix 004 and later.
