[KBA-00080] Monitor logical ID not recognized in Omnicast™
This article explains why the logical ID of a monitor is not recognized by macros and commands that use it in Omnicast™.
You created a macro or set up a command in Omnicast™ using a monitor ID, but the macro or command does not work.
When a Windows administrator user first logs into Omnicast™ and opens the Live Viewer, each monitor receives a logical ID, which is then automatically registered in Omnicast™ and the Windows Registry.
However, if a non-admin Windows user logs into Omnicast™ for the first time before a Windows administrator, the logical IDs will be registered in Omnicast™ but not in the Windows Registry.
This behavior causes a problem when a non-admin Windows user create a macro based on a monitor's logical ID. The macro will not recognize the ID because it is not registered with Windows, even though the user might see it as a valid ID in Omnicast™.
Ensure a Windows administrator runs the Live Viewer application first. This ensures that the monitor IDs are registered correctly, and will be recognized by commands in Omnicast™.
