To choose what fonts are used and uploaded to your variable message sign, you must configure your DMS entity fonts.

What you should know

  • To change a DMS entity's fonts, it must be put in Offline mode.
  • Changing a DMS entity's fonts resets the messages activated on the sign. This should only be done as part of the sign's initial setup or maintenance.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Area view task.
  2. From the entity tree, select your DMS entity.
  3. Click the Fonts tab, and in the Configuration section, set the font settings:
    Default font
Select a font to use on the sign by default for all displayed messages.
    Skip font upload
Skips fonts upload when a message is activated on the sign. This is enabled by default.

If your sign already has the fonts you need, you do not need to upload fonts to it each time you activate a message.

    Font query timeout
Define a time limit after which the system will stop searching for new fonts.
  4. Click Apply.
  5. To list all the fonts that are available for the sign, click Refresh.
  6. To download the fonts that are available for the sign to your computer, click Download.
  7. To add a font, click Add ().
  8. To remove a font from the list, click Delete ().
  9. To preview a font character, in the Font list section, select a font, then in the character list, select a character.
The selected character is displayed on the right-hand side.
