The SiPass plugin provides three options for providing door names so that in Security Center, door names match the names of the SiPass readers or devices.
By configuring the DoorNamingStrategy attribute in the Genetec.Plugins.SiPass.ProxyService.cfg.xml file, you can choose which attributes from the SiPass system are displayed as door names in Security
Center. The file is located in the folder where the proxy service was installed on the SiPass server. By default, the installation path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Genetec\SiPass Proxy.
DoorNamingStrategy option | Behavior |
---|---|
DeviceAndDoorNumber | Displays the name of the device and the number of the door. |
AllReaderNames | Displays the names of all readers connected to a door. Multiple reader names are included in full. |
SharedReaderPrefix | Displays the names of the readers connected to the door. When multiple readers begin with the same prefix, the common part of the name is used. This is the default. |
Example:
A system has three doors connected to a device named DeviceA. The following table shows the configuration of the doors and readers connected to DeviceA.
Door # | Reader Names |
---|---|
1 | Main Door |
2 |
|
3 |
|
Notice that the device and the readers in SiPass have names, but that the doors are numbered and do not have names. The door names that appear in Security Center are created from the SiPass system based on the option selected for DoorNamingStrategy in the SiPass plugin.
The following table shows how each option renders door names.
DoorNamingStrategy option | Door names in Security Center | ||
---|---|---|---|
Door #1 | Door #2 | Door #3 | |
DeviceAndDoorNumber | Device A Door 1 | Device A Door 2 | Device A Door 3 |
AllReaderNames | Main Door | Back Door In, Back Door Out | Front Door, Side Door |
SharedReaderPrefix (Default) | Main Door | Back Door | Front Door, Side Door |
