[KBA-00919] Why Do I Encounter an “Insufficient Privileges” Error when Logging into Mobile Client 3.0?

This article explains why a user might get an “Error 1000 – Insufficient Privileges” error when logging into Security Center Mobile Client 3.0.

Question

When logging into Security Center Mobile Client 3.0 as a user other than Admin, I encounter an "Error 1000 – Insufficient Privileges" error message. Why?

Answer

This is a privilege issue. In Security Center 5.1, the Mobile Application privilege must be set to Allow so users can connect via the Mobile Client.

To do so, log into the Config Tool, create a Security task, and select a user. In its Privileges tab, under Application Privileges, set Mobile Application to Allow.

The best practice is to add this privilege to the user group for all mobile users.
