[KBA-76406] How to reinstall RabbitMQ 3.6.4 or later

This article describes how to re-install RabbitMQ version 3.6.4 or later when it is deployed with Sipelia™ 2.3 GA or later.

Summary

When installing version 2.3 GA and later of the Sipelia™ module,RabbitMQ 3.6.4 is deployed. If you experiencea problem, such as your RabbitMQ Windows service consistently fails to start, you might have to re-install RabbitMQ.

Because of the specific RabbitMQ configuration that is deployed by the Sipelia™ Server installer, to re-install the module, you cannot use the RabbitMQ installer that is included with the installation package or the one that can be downloaded from the RabbitMQ web site. Also, the Repair option in the Sipelia™ installer does not re-install the RabbitMQ module; it re-installs the Sipelia™ component only.

Procedure

To re-install RabbitMQ:
  1. Uninstall RabbitMQ.
  2. Uninstall Sipelia™.
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. Re-install the Sipelia™ server feature.

The server installation deploys the RabbitMQ component. Installing the client feature is optional.

NOTE: When re-installing RabbitMQ, you do not need to re-install the Erlang OTP (RabbitMQ prerequisite).

If you have incorrectly modified the RabbitMQ configuration file and you are unable to fix it, delete the directory found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Genetec\RabbitMQ, and then re-install RabbitMQ. The feature installation of Sipelia™ server re-creates the directory, using the default values.
