[KBA-01380] HID Edge EVO controller stops sending events to Security Center and reports a failed synchronization
This article explains why HID Edge EVO controllers might stop sending events to Security Center and report a failed synchronization.
- HID Edge EVO controllers are in a yellow warning state and report the following
Could not save a configuration file on the unit: AccessDb, IdentDb.
- HID Edge EVO controllers stop sending events to Security Center.
The controller OS is in read-only mode, which means that Security Center cannot send data to the controller or receive events from the controller.
WorkaroundCheck if your HID Edge EVO controller is in read-only mode, as follows:
- Open a telnet session with the controller.
- After logging on, attempt to create a test folder with the following command:
If the controller OS is in read-only mode, you will receive the following error message:
mkdir: cannot create directory 'test': Read-only file system
If your controller is in read-only mode, restart the controller. A restart might provide a temporary fix and allow the unit to go online until the next failed synchronization.
To resolve this problem, a diode must be applied on the circuit between the relay and the door strike or magnetic lock. For more information, refer to the HID Installation Precautions Application Note. Follow this same process for installing new magnetic locks and door strikes.
If the problem persists, contact the Genetec™ Technical Assistance Center (GTAC).
