[KBA-00778] Bosch H.264 stream not working with Barco Transform A in Omnicast™

This article explains why an error message appears when attempting to stream a Bosch H.264 unit on a Barco Transform A video wall in Omnicast™.

Summary

When attempting to view an H.264 stream from a Bosch unit on a Barco Transform A video wall, the following error message is displayed:
No Transform A Encoder Template is mapped to Omnicast Compression type number "XX". 
Edit the video compression xml mapping for the Transform A plugin named "XXXX" to add this compression type.

To fix this issue, edit the Transform A plugin XML file to reflect the Bosch encoder template and video compression type/ID.
  1. In Config Tool, export the Transform A video compression XML file from the Properties tab of the Transform A Plugin.

  2. Click Edit to open the XML file in Notepad.
  3. Edit the following lines of code:
    <DefaultCompressionType TemplateName="bosch_h264_rtp"/>
    ...
    ...
    <!--GX_VIDEOCOMPCFGTYPE_VCS_H264-->
    <OmnicastCompressionType ID="49">
        <ThirdPartyCompressionType ID="bosch_h264_rtp" />
    </OmnicastCompressionType>

    The XML file should look like this:

  4. Save and close the file.
  5. In Config Tool, import the updated XML file in the Properties tab of the Transform A plugin.

  6. Apply the settings and try to stream the Bosch camera again.
