[KBA-01235] Client receives multicast streams instead of unicast streams after restarting a switch
This article explains why a client workstation that normally receives unicast streams starts receiving multicast streams after a switch reset.
When the connection type between a camera and a client workstation is set to Unicast, the workstation should receive unicast streams. After restarting a network switch, a client configured to receive unicast streams, receives multicast streams instead.
The Omnicast™ Gateway receives incorrect commands after a switch restart.
The multicast streams can be stopped by restarting the Gateway.
A hotfix is available for Omnicast™ 4.8 SR4 (HF127354 or later). To obtain the hotfix, contact the Genetec™ Technical Assistance Center (GTAC).
This issue is resolved in Omnicast™ 4.8 SR5 and later.
