[KBA-00787] Cannot view recorded video with Bosch VRM in Omnicast™

This article explains why users might be unable to view recorded video in Archive Player when using Bosch VRM integration in Omnicast™.

Summary

When using Bosch VRM integration in Omnicast™, a search for recorded video might return zero results, even though VRM shows video being stored and recorded.

To troubleshoot the issue, check the following on your system:

1) Network Card Settings

You might have several network connections that are connected to different networks. In this case, Omnicast™ will need to use the first connection in the network connections list; try and make sure it is the Omnicast™ network connection. It is also recommended to disable any unused NICs and rename any current NICs (for example: Omnicast Network Main).

Do the following:
  1. Open the Windows Network Connections window.
  2. Click Advanced > Advanced Settings.

  3. In the Connections area, select the network adapter that is associated with Omnicast™ and move it up to the first position using the arrow buttons.

  4. Disable unused network adapters.

2) iSCSI settings

Some iSCSI drives managed by the Bosch VRM might need the Omnicast™ Archiver machine name added to their initiator list to work properly.

3) Archive Player - Playback videos

When you search for playback video from the Omnicast™ Archive Player, select "all units" as the Source, and you should see the results in the bottom pane.
