When an RSA perimeter is armed, it is ready to detect targets that cross it. You arm and disarm perimeters differently than zones. Perimeters are armed from the Monitoring task, and zones are armed from any map in Security Desk and from the dashboard widget.

What you should know

By default, an armed perimeter is black and a disarmed perimeter is white. When the perimeter sensor reports an error, the perimeter reports a system warning and changes to orange. If a target is detected on the perimeter, the perimeter changes to purple. All of these colors are configurable from Config Tool on the tracking system's Properties tab.

Procedure

  1. In Security Desk, open the Monitoring task.
  2. To arm a perimeter, in the entities pane, expand a perimeter tracking system, right-click a sensor and select Arm.
On the map, the perimeter line changes to the armed color, which is black by default.
