In Security Center, you can configure an area to be armed and disarmed when a cardholder presents an access key or badge at the reader.

What you should know

You cannot define multiple swipes for arming and disarming on the same reader.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Intrusion detection task.
  2. Select the Honeywell Galaxy intrusion panel from the entity browser.
  3. On the Areas tab, select an area from the list.
  4. To configure the arming of select doors by specific cardholders, do the following:
    1. In the Badging section, move the Armed slider to ON.
    2. In the first Number of badging field, enter the number of card swipes required to arm the door.
    3. In the second Number of badging field, enter amount of time in seconds allowed for each card swipe.
    4. In the Manage cardholders / doors section, expand the Armed section.
    5. Right-click Doors, click Add doors, and then select the door or doors you want to use to arm the area.
    6. Right-click Cardholders, click Add cardholders, and then select one or more cardholders.
  5. To configure the disarming of select doors by specific cardholders, do the following:
    1. In the Badging section, move the Disarmed slider to ON.
    2. In the first Number of badging field, enter the number of card swipes required to disarm the door.
    3. In the second Number of badging field, enter amount of time in seconds allowed for each card swipe.
    4. In the Manage cardholders / doors section, expand the Disarmed section.
    5. Right-click Doors, click Add doors, and then select the door or doors you want to use to disarm the area, making sure to pick different doors than those used to arm the area.
    6. Right-click Cardholders, click Add cardholders, and then select one or more cardholders.

Example

When the Number of badging under Armed is set to 2x3, then a specified cardholder must swipe their access key twice at the door within 6 seconds to arm the area.

When the Number of badging under Disarmed is set to 3x3, then a specified cardholder must swipe their access key three times at the door within 9 seconds to disarm the area.
