[KBA-79029] "Transmission lost" warning using hardware dewarping with Axis Panorama and Double Panorama views

This article explains why after enabling the Panorama or Double Panorama view for Axis M3048-P or M3047-P units, the view shows a Transmission lost warning and the video stream is not displayed.

Symptoms

You enabled the Panorama or Double Panorama view from the M3048-P or M3047-P unit web page after the unit was added in Security Center. When you select one of the views in Security Desk, you receive a Transmission lost warning and the video stream is not displayed.

The Overview video stream is displayed correctly.

Cause

To use hardware dewarping with the Panorama or Double Panorama view for Axis M3048-P and M3047-P units, configuration is required on the unit web page before adding the unit in Security Center.

Workaround

To fix this issue:
  1. Delete the unit from Config Tool.

Keep the video recordings if necessary.

  2. In the unit web page, reset the camera to the factory default.
  3. Complete the initial setup for the unit in the Get started section, such as setting the capture mode and Mounting position.
IMPORTANT: For the capture mode option, select a dewarped view with an aspect ratio of 4:3.
  4. From the Settings section of the web page, go to System > Plain config > Image and enable the views you want to display in Security Center.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Add the unit in Config Tool.
Each view is shown as a camera under the video unit in Config Tool. The video streams should display correctly.
To prevent this issue in the future, do the following in the unit web page before adding Axis M3048-P or M3047-P units in Security Center:
  1. Open the unit web page.
  2. Complete the initial setup for the unit in the Get started section, such as setting the capture mode and Mounting position.
IMPORTANT: For the capture mode option, select a dewarped view with an aspect ratio of 4:3.
  3. From the Settings section of the web page, go to System > Plain config > Image and enable the views you want to display in Security Center.
  4. Click Save.
