To prepare your system for integration with Security Center, a user account with specific screen privileges must be available for the plugin, and you must either enable or disable the graphics on door status.

Before you begin

  • The AMAG Symmetry access control system needs to be deployed and operational, with all devices installed, operating as expected, and available in Symmetry SMS.
  • Symmetry SMS must be running a compatible version.

What you should know

To communicate with AMAG Symmetry, the AMAG Symmetry plugin and proxy service require a user account that grants the plugin specific privileges.

If your organization's network security policies require that the IP devices, routers, and switches in your network block unused ports, then make sure that the ports required by Symmetry SMS, Security Center, and the AMAG Symmetry plugin are open. Symmetry SMS and the access control units (nodes) communicate door status over port 65101.

NOTE: If the user interface described in this topic differs from what you have, ensure that you are running a compatible version of the software.

Procedure

  1. In Symmetry SMS, create a user account that has the following screen permissions:
    • Home>Monitoring>Alarms

    • Home>Monitoring>Command Center

    • Home>Identity>Card Holders

    • Reports>History>Activity

  2. If you want to the door icons in Security Center to indicate when doors are open or closed, do the following:
    1. In Symmetry SMS, enable the Door Status on Graphics option.
    2. Make sure that port 65101 is open on the AMAG Symmetry server and on any switches and routers in your network.
NOTE: If, for performance issues, the Door Status on Graphics option is disabled in Symmetry SMS, then you must clear the Enable door status retrieval checkbox in the AMAG Symmetry proxy service, otherwise the proxy service will fail.
