[KBA-00200] Omnicast™ client applications taking a long time to connect to the server
This article explains why you might experience a long delay when trying to connect an Omnicast™ client application to the server application.
When the Live Viewer, Config Tool, or Archive Player tries to connect to the Server Application (Omnicast™ Gateway), you might experience a delay of up to a minute. After you type in your username and password and hit OK, the application seems to be frozen for about 30 seconds.
When you are using a flat network with no routers or gateways but you specified gateway in your TCP/IP configuration, which causes a network delay. If you have a non-existent default gateway IP address, the network devices take up to 30 seconds to try to find the IP address.
Configure all your network devices with a static IP address with no Gateway IP address. If you need to use DHCP, configure it so that it does not transmit a default gateway.
