[KBA-01038] Unit motion detection stops working on Axis, IQinVision, and Sony Cameras

This article explains why unit motion detection on Axis, IQinVision, and Sony cameras stops working when the units are discovered or come online on a standby Archiver role.

Applies to: Omnicast™ 4.8

Symptoms

When the standy Archiver is restarted, or an Axis, IQinVision, or Sony unit comes online on the standby Archiver, unit motion detection stops working. Recording also stops if the camera is set to record on motion.

Cause

The Archiver does not configure the unit motion detection settings properly at discovery.

Workaround

Restart the primary Archiver or change the motion detection settings.

Status

A hotfix is available for Omnicast™ 4.8 SR1 HIP2 (HF85768). Contact the Genetec™ Technical Assistance Center to obtain it.

This issue will be resolved in Omnicast™ 4.8 SR2.
