[KBA-78150] Security Center system is not working due to exceeded license options

Mercury EP controllers and downstream panels are displayed as being offline in Config Tool. Doors that are controlled by these devices also are shown to be offline in Security Desk.

Summary

Licenses can be modified manually through Server Admin or automatically pushed to your system using the Genetecâ„¢ Update Service (GUS). If one of your current licenses is overridden by an update that does not match your system, your system might no longer work.

For example, if you are no longer using Access Control in your Security Center system, new licenses that the GUS applies to your system do not include the Access Control part number. If you have not removed the Access Control role from your system at the time the new license is applied, a conflict occurs.

Symptoms

If a licensing conflict occurs, you receive the following error message when opening Config Tool:

Workaround

To resolve this issue, do one of the following:
  • If you have an entity on your system that is not contained in your license and you do not need this entity, remove it.
  • If an entity should have been included in your license but has not, contact Customer Service to update your license.
