This article explains why Vivotek camera models IP/PZ 61x2 display Waiting for Signal in Omnicast™ client applications running on Windows Vista, 7, or Server 2008
When viewing Vivotek IP and PZ 61x2 units in Omnicast™ client applications running on Windows Vista, 7, or Server 2008, the camera displays Waiting for Signal indefinitely. Connecting to the unit web pages directly displays a Connecting to IP x.x.x.x message before timing out.
This is a unit limitation caused by the way Vivotek firmware handles a WinHttp request from the server. Due to a space in the header message sent by the camera, the video stream is rejected by the server.
There is no workaround for Windows Vista,7, or Server 2008. The camera functions correctly in Windows XP and Server 2003.
