[KBA-74540] Archivers with Axis cameras dropping offline repeatedly after installing or upgrading to Security Center 5.5

This article explains why an Archiver with Axis cameras might go offline repeatedly and come back online after installing or upgrading to Security Center 5.5.

Symptoms

In some cases, after installing or upgrading to Security Center 5.5, an Archiver and all its cameras might go offline repeatedly and come back online. You might notice the following symptoms:

  • One or more Archivers and the cameras managed by those Archivers turn red repeatedly and go offline, and then come back online.
  • The affected Archivers are managing Axis video units.
  • The Windows Event Viewer Application log has Application Error entries referring to AxisExtension.dll and GenetecArchiverAgent32.exe.
  • The Windows Event Viewer Genetecâ„¢ log contains Genetecâ„¢Archiver errors referring to Genetec.ServiceModel.ServiceDomainNotFoundException.

Cause

There is a timing issue with the communication between a camera and the Archiver. The Archiver is receiving data for an RTSP session that no longer exists.

None

Status

The issue is fixed in Security Center 5.5 SR3.
