During synchronization, the data in Security Center and the data in the external data sources are compared for any differences, and the data in Security Center is updated accordingly. You can configure how often this synchronization automatically occurs, or start a synchronization manually.

What you should know

Manual synchronizations can be triggered at any time by clicking Synchronize now ().

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Plugins task.
  2. In the Plugins task, select the Card Synchronization plugin role from the entity browser, and click the Properties tab.
  3. From the Synchronization section, configure the following options:
    Automatic synchronization
Disable during initial configuration so that you do not accidentally import from data sources before you are finished. Automatic synchronizations include scheduled synchronizations and synchronizations triggered by adding or modifying data sources.
    Interval
Configure how often changes made to data sources are pulled into Security Center automatically. There are two options:
    • Fixed: Starts the sync after waiting for the specified interval following the completion of the previous sync attempt. Set the duration by entering the number of days, hours, minutes, and seconds. For example: The timer is set to 15 minutes. The sync starts 1:00 P.M. and ends at 1:05 P.M. The next sync starts at 1:20 P.M.
    • Cron schedule: Starts the sync at the scheduled time. Set the timer to a Quartz Cron schedule format. For example: The timer is set to 0 */15 * ? * *, which is every 15 minutes. The sync starts at 1:00 P.M. and ends at 1:05 P.M. The next sync starts at 1:15 P.M.
Tip: After you enter an interval, hover over the info icon to see the schedule.
NOTE: If you want to set a Cron schedule, use an online Cron generator to create the schedule, then paste the Cron expression from the generator into the text field.
  4. Click Apply.
