[KBA-01173] Axis P3304 Audio Is Not Recorded when Stream Is Viewed Live
This article explains why Omnicast stops recording the audio from an Axis P3304 unit the moment a user views (and listens to) its live stream.
If a system is set to record an Axis P3304 unit's stream along with its audio, the audio recording will stop the moment a user uses either Live Viewer or Config Tool to view (and listen to) the unit's live stream. Audio will begin recording again the moment the live stream is no longer viewed.
This is due to a coding issue.
When listening to live audio, change the microphone's connection type to Multicast, apply the change, then revert back to Unicast.
A hotfix is available for Omnicast 4.8 SR1 HIP2 (HF113778). Please contact the Genetec Technical Assistance Center to obtain it.
This issue is resolved in Omnicast 4.8 SR4 and later.
