[KBA-78378] Badge template designs might be missing when you open them from the Badge designer tool

This document explains how to recover your badge template designs and why they might have disappeared.

Symptoms

After upgrading to Security Center 5.7 GA, badge template designs that have already been created might be partially or completely missing.

Cause

This issue applies to workstations that are running operating systems using either a regional configuration or a language that uses a comma (,) instead of a dot (.) as the decimal symbol.

Using dot (.) as decimal symbol

Using comma (,) as decimal symbol

Workaround

Change the decimal symbol in your regional configuration to a dot (.).

To change the decimal symbol:
  1. Close Config Tool.
  2. Click the Start menu icon, type Region in the search bar, and then select Region > Additional settings.
  3. In the Decimal symbol field, replace the comma (,) with a dot (.) and click Apply > OK to save the changes.

5. Open Config Tool and check the badge template designs.

This issue will be resolved in Security Center 5.7 SR1.
