[KBA-00545] Directory service not connecting when using remote SQL server in Omnicast™
This article explains why Omnicast™ client applications cannot connect to the Directory when using a remote SQL server.
The Directory service is started in Windows and in the Watchdog, but Omnicast™ client applications are unable to connect to it. The Directory’s telnet debugging console shows a status indicating no connections. The Directory telnet debug console be accessed from the Omnicast™ Watchdog.
The Directory service must start up with a domain account that belongs to the local administrator group on the Omnicast™ server and the SQL server. That user account must also have sufficient privileges to access and manipulate the SQL database.
