[KBA-01208] Archiver process stops responding and Bosch PTZ units experience registration issues
This article explains why Bosch PTZ units experience registration issues that coincide with the Archiver process hanging after using excessive amounts of memory.
The Archiver process increases its memory usage until it stops responding, at which point any requests made to it do not go through.
In addition, the Archiver logs show many Entity Unregistered, Entity Created, and Entity Registered events for Bosch PTZ cameras.
A temporary configuration object was not deleted during the creation of the Bosch PTZs, resulting in memory issues.
A hotfix is available for Omnicast™ 4.8 SR4 (HF128814 or later). Contact the Genetec™ Technical Assistance Center to obtain it.
This issue is resolved in Omnicast™ 4.8 SR5.
