[KBA-00737] Error when migrating some units between Archivers in Omnicast™

This article explains why you might get an error message that states Your license does not support the standby Archiver when migrating some units from one Archiver to another in Omnicast™.

Symptoms

When migrating units that use a discovery port (for example, Verint encoders), you might get the following error message:
Your license does not support the standby Archiver. 
Unit 'X' could not be added on a secondary Archiver. (Error 0x0000023c)

You continue to receive this error until the issue is resolved.

Cause

If the discovery port on both Archivers is the same, both Archivers attempt to add the unit. A unit cannot be added to more than one Archive unless your license contains a Standby Archiver.

Workaround

To resolve this issue, do the following:
  1. Use a different discovery port for each Archiver server.
  2. Configure the correct discovery port for the video unit through the Telnet console.
  3. If the unit does not come back online, re-add the unit to the newly assigned Archiver in Config Tool using the new port.
