[KBA-00918] Block Artifacts in Live Viewer 4.8 SR1 when Viewing Verint Units
This article explains why video from Verint units will show block artifacts when viewed using the Omnicast 4.8 SR1 Live Viewer.
Video block artifacts appear in Live Viewer 4.8 SR1 when switching layouts or calling cameras (Verint units). Network captures show no packet losses.
This effect may go away after a certain time.
There is a problem with the decoding library in Omnicast 4.8 SR1
Uninstall the Omnicast 4.8 SR1 client applications and install the 4.8 GA client applications instead.
A hot fix is available for Omnicast 4.8 SR1 (HF71707 or later). Please contact the Genetec Technical Assistance Center in order to obtain it.
This issue is resolved in Omnicast 4.8 SR2.
