[KBA-00980] "Waiting for Video Stream" on Security Center Mobile 3.0

This article explains what might cause a "waiting for video stream" error in Security Center Mobile 3.0.


When viewing a camera native to Security Center in the monitoring task of the Security Center Mobile 3.0 client, the video stream will not display, instead showing "Waiting for video stream".

Additionally, the following exception error will be found in the log file_Genetec.Mobile.VideoHost32.exe log file (found in C:\Program Files\Genetec Security Center Mobile 3.0\Logs):

This exception error points to the Microsoft C++ runtime redistributables and states they were not installed or have been registered incorrectly during the installation process.

If this is the case, please install the latest Omnicast compatibility pack located on the Security Center Mobile 3.0 installation disk. Follow the steps listed in the Security Center Mobile 3.0 - Installation and User Guide to properly install it. Installing the latest Omnicast compatibility pack will re-install the missing Microsoft C++ runtime redistributables.
