This article explains why Genetec™ SAMA installation fails during the installation or upgrade of Security Center 5.4 or later.

Symptoms

When installing or upgrading Security Center 5.4 or later, the installation stops with error codes 1920 or 1923:

Cause

Security Center installation stops with error codes 1920 or 1923 due to unavailable internet access on servers or workstations.

Workaround

In some situations, users might use DNS on their workstations to access internal websites, but because these servers and workstations do not have internet access, users won't be able to access external websites.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Refer to KBA01444 and KBA01445 to learn about certificate revocation and local security policy settings.

2. Run installation package as administrator.
