[KBA-00728] How to perform a silent install of SQL Express 2008 R2
This article explains the command line used to perform a silent install of SQL Express 2008 R2 to accompany a silent Omnicast™ installation.
Applies to: Omnicast™ 4.0 - 4.8
If your Omnicast™ installation environment requires you to implement the software using a silent install, you can perform a silent install of SQL Express 2008 R2 using default configurations.
A silent installation is an automated way of installing software where you do not have to answer any questions, or respond to any prompts during installation. You can perform a silent installation of SQL Express by entering a series of commands on the command-line. For more information, see the installation guide for your product version.
The following command executes a silent install of SQL Express using the same default values as an Omnicast™ installation (use the SQLEXPRWT_x64_ENU.exe file if running a 64-bit OS).
C:\Genetec\Server\SQLExpress\SQLEXPRWT_x86_ENU.exe /QS /IACCEPTSQLSERVERLICENSETERMS /FILESTREAMLEVEL=3 /HIDECONSOLE=1 /ACTION=Install /FEATURES=SQL,Tools /SQLSVCACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" /SQLSYSADMINACCOUNTS="BUILTIN\ADMINISTRATORS" /INSTANCENAME=OMNICAST
