[KBA-78943] Cameras go offline after HTTPS is enabled for a video unit

This article explains why cameras might go offline after you add a video unit in Security Center with HTTPS authentication enabled, or when you enable HTTPS from the Properties tab of a video unit.

Symptoms

In Security Center 5.6 GA-SR4 CU8 or 5.7 GA-SR2, after you add a video unit that uses HTTPS authentication or enable HTTPS from the Properties tab of a video unit, some or all cameras go offline. The more cameras you have in your system, the faster they go offline.

If you type netstat -anoq in the Windows command prompt, the number of entries with a Bound state increases as more cameras go offline.

Cause

This issue is caused by a TCP port leak.

Workaround

In the Properties tab of all your video unit entities, disable the Use HTTPS option.

Status

This issue is fixed in Security Center 5.6 SR4 CU9, 5.7 SR3, and 5.8 GA.
