[KBA-77786] Cameras do not record if TLS 1.0 is disabled

This article explains why cameras might not record if TLS 1.0 is disabled in Windows.

Summary

If TLS 1.0 is disabled, cameras might be unable to record video because the Archiver role is not writing events to the Archiver database.

Cause

The Archiver role uses SQL Native Client 2008 R2, which requires TLS 1.0.

Workaround

Download and install this Microsoft update that enables TLS 1.2 with SQL Native Client 2008 R2.

Status

This issue is resolved in Security Center 5.6 SR4 because the Archiver role no longer requires SQL Native Client 2008 R2.
