[KBA-01372] Request to exit unlocks an SMC-controlled door even if a threat level is triggered

This article explains why the request to exit feature on a door controlled by Synergis™ Master Controller (SMC) is not disabled even during a threat level lockdown.

Symptoms

Normally, when a threat level is triggered, all associated doors lock down. The Unlock on request to exit feature is disabled, meaning that using the REX output does not unlock a door.

However, when a threat level is triggered, anyone using the REX can unlock the door.

Credentials work as normal though; if you have minimum security clearance, you can unlock a door by presenting a card to the reader.

The screenshot below shows that when a threat level is activated, the door is locked. If you present credentials without the minimum security clearance, you are denied access as expected. However, you can unlock the door by using the Request to exit feature.
