[KBA-01207] Omnicast Does Not Send Emails
This article explains why Omnicast might not send emails even if the SMTP settings within are properly configured.
The Omnicast email settings are properly configured, yet Omnicast does not send emails.
The SMTP server address is too long, resulting in a response that exceeds 100 bytes. Omnicast will not acknowledge such a lengthy response and will therefore not send emails out.
A hotfix is available for Omnicast 4.8 SR4 (HF129525 or later). Please contact the Genetec Technical Assistance Center in order to obtain it.
This issue is resolved in Omnicast 4.8 SR5.
