When you enroll an intrusion panel, its inputs and outputs are listed on the Peripheral page. You can rename and describe the device, change its icon, and provide a logical ID. You can also see the state of inputs and outputs.
What you should know
- Inputs and outputs are physical components on the panel, like a sensor or dry contact, which might be used for a fire detector, glassbreak detector, or motion detector.
- The state of an input will be Unavailable in two cases: 1) when the input is bypassed and 2) when the intrusion panel is offline. Moreover, when a panel is offline, the related intrusion detection unit, inputs, and outputs are Unavailable and highlighted red.
- For outputs, you can create event-to-actions that trigger the output in response to an event or the state change of an input or area.
- When an input, output, or intrusion detection area is renamed on a panel, Security Center is updated immediately.
- If you physically remove an input or output from an intrusion panel, Security Center detects the input or output as offline. You can manually delete this entity from the Peripherals page.
CAUTION:
When an intrusion detection unit is manually
synchronized, the configuration of the inputs and outputs is lost and reverts back to what
is on the intrusion panel. After a manual synchronization, you need to identify the inputs
and outputs again.
Procedure
After you finish
- Create areas and attach the related inputs.
- Link a camera to an input.
- Add inputs to maps.
- Set up event-to-action in response to input state changes.
