To add a C-One² mobile reader in Security Center, you must create a RIO device by configuring a channel, interface, and reader label on the RIO page of your Synergis™ Cloud Link unit in Config Tool.

What you should know

  • You can control and monitor the C-One² readers using the Synergis™ RIO API.
  • Unit Hardware pages in Config Tool are not supported in hosted Synergis™ SaaS edition deployments. To create RIO devices, you must use the RIO API instead.
  • You must configure one reader for each mustering area in Security Center. For more information, see Configuring areas for mustering using.

Procedure

  1. Enable the RIO configuration tab in Config Tool for your Synergis™ Cloud Link unit:
    1. In a web browser, enter the following URL command:
      https://[Unit IP]/Features/DuiRIO/Enabled/Set?value=true
NOTE: [Unit IP] is the IP address of your Synergis™ Cloud Link unit.
    2. Enter the user name and password for the Synergis™ Cloud Link unit, and then click Login.
    3. On the Login successful page, click /Features/DuiRIO/Enabled/Set?value=true.
  2. From the Config Tool home page, open the Access control task, and click the Roles and units view.
  3. In the entity tree, expand the Access Manager role, and click the Synergis™ Cloud Link unit.
  4. Click the Hardware tab, and then click the RIO tab.
  5. Create a channel and an interface for the reader.
NOTE: Take note of the channel and interface address. You will need this information later to configure the reader in the Mustering application on the C-One² mobile reader.
    1. Click Add channel (), and enter a name for the channel.
NOTE: Do not include spaces in the name.
    1. Click Add interfaces (), and then configure the following:
      Address
Enter a number or label as the address.
NOTE: It is recommended to use a different address for each mobile reader so that you can monitor the connection of the readers independently.

Enter the reader manufacturer. For example, Coppernic.
      ModelName
Enter the reader model. For example, C-One².
