If you replace the Security Center Directory or make major changes to the Directory server, such as changing the computer name or operating system, you must reset your license. You can reset your license from the Genetecâ„¢ Technical Assistance Portal (GTAP).

What you should know

If you have trouble resetting your license or if the Reset button is not displayed, contact the Genetec Technical Assistance Center (GTAC). You might have reached the maximum number of resets allowed on your system.

These steps assume that you are familiar with managing system licenses and navigating Server Admin. If you need more information, detailed steps are available from Activating Security Center license manually.

Procedure

  1. Open the System Management page on GTAP and find your system using the system ID.
  2. On the System Information page, click Reset > OK.
  3. From Server Admin, click Save to file to generate a new validation key.
License management dialog box in Server Admin with the Save to file button highlighted.
  4. On the System Information page on GTAP, click Activate license.
  5. Select the validation key file that you generated from Server Admin and click Submit.
  6. When the License activation successful message is shown, click Download under License Key and save the license key to a file.
  7. From the License activation page in Server Admin, select the license key file and click Activate.
License management dialog box in Server Admin with Manual Activation selected.
