You can upgrade the Dynamic Log Book plugin from version 4.0 directly to version 4.1.0. To upgrade from Dynamic Log Book 3.x, you must install the latest version and then delete the previous plugin version.

Before you begin

  1. Read the release notes to learn about important information for this release.
  2. Confirm that your versions of Security Center and the plugin are compatible.

What you should know

  • The plugin must be upgraded on all Security Center client and server computers.
  • An upgrade keeps your current entities and their configuration, and all event notifications.
  • The Directory database contains all your entities.
  • The plugin database contains all your plugin configurations, such as layouts, lists, archive settings, and fillable forms.
  • Forms that were created in older versions of the plugin cannot be migrated to version 4.1.0 of the plugin.

Procedure

To upgrade to Dynamic Log Book plugin 4.1.0 from version 4.0:

  1. Open Server Admin, and back up the Directory database.
  2. Back up the plugin role database.
  3. Install the latest version of the plugin.
  4. Deactivate the plugin role, and then activate it.
    The plugin is ready for use.

To upgrade to Dynamic Log Book 4.1.0 from older versions:

  1. Install the latest version of the plugin.
  2. Create the plugin role.
  3. When the integration using the new plugin works as expected, delete the plugin role associated with the previous version of the plugin.
  4. From the Windows Apps and Features panel, search for Dynamic Log Book 3.0 or 3.1, and uninstall it.
