What you should know

A data source name (DSN) is the name that applications use to request a connection to an ODBC Data Source. After the connection is established, it is the name that represents the ODBC connection. The DSN stores the connection details like database name, directory, database driver, user ID, password, etc., when making a connection to the ODBC.

Procedure

  1. In the Windows Control Panel, open ODBC Data Sources.
You must use the version of ODBC Data Sources that has the same number of bits as your installation of MorphoManager. Otherwise, you will receive an error that says the specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between driver and application.
  2. In the System DSN tab, click Add.
The Create New Data Source dialog box opens.
  3. From the list of drivers, select SQL Server and click Finish.
The Create New Data Source dialog box opens.
  4. Enter the following:
    Name
The name you want to apply to the data sources.
    Server
The IP address of the SQL Server that you want to connect to.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Enter the following:
    Login ID
The login ID for the SQL server you created.
    Password
The password for the SQL server you created.
  7. Click Next.
  8. From the Change the default database to list, select the database that belongs to the plugin.
  9. Click Next, and then Finish.
