To add MorphoManager biometric devices as readers in Security Center, you must add the access control unit
that is physically connected to the biometric device in Config Tool, assign the device to a door entity as
a reader, and then place this door under the Morpho Biometrics plugin in the
Security Center Area View task.
Before you begin
Wire the access control hardware to the MorphoManager biometric device hardware,
including the LED connections. For more information, consult your Morpho
documentation.
What you should know
- Security Center doors are associated
with MorphoManager access groups. These access groups are named after a
combination of the Security Center door
entity name and unique ID.
- Access groups are used to associate cardholders who have access to these
Security Center doors with
MorphoManager user distribution groups. User distribution groups are used by
Morpho to indicate which users should be sent to specific Morpho readers.
- Make sure you enter the name of the door correctly, as the access group name is
derived from the door name and cannot be updated in MorphoManager, even if the
door is renamed in Security Center.
Procedure
-
In Config Tool, open the
Area view task.
-
In the tree view, expand Morpho Biometrics, right-click
on the nested area, and add a door entity.
NOTE: Each door must be given a unique name that is less than 70 characters in
length. For your door entity to be functional, you must map the hardware
wiring of the door (reader connections, door locks, door sensors, REX’s,
buzzers, etc.) to the door entity, so that the Access Manager knows how to
control the door and so that you receive related event notifications.
-
Configure
the door to use the access control unit that is physically
connected to the MorphoManager biometric device. The biometric device
is created as a reader that is attached to the access control unit.
For more information about adding access control units and doors in Config Tool, see the Security Center Administrator
Guide.
