You can select which network card your programming station communicates with, and the
port forwarding option, by configuring the connections in Config Tool.
What you should know
- The plugin uses Security Center networks to
determine the plugin server IP. If a public address is configured in the network where the
plugin resides, you must configure a port mapping from the given port of the public
address to the plugin. If the plugin and workstation both reside on the same side of the
firewall, the network hardware must support NAT hairpinning.
- If you want to use port forwarding, note that you can only configure the connection
parameters from the plugin. The forwarding functions must be configured by your IT
department.
Procedure
-
From the Config
Tool home page, open the
Plugins task.
-
In the Plugins task, select the plugin role from the entity
browser, click the Resources tab, and then click
Advanced ().
-
From the Network card list, select an available network card, or
Any.
If you choose
Any, the plugin selects the first available
network card in numerical order from the
Private addresses list in
Genetecâ„¢ Server Admin. If the checkbox for
one card is selected, that card will be used. If more than one card is selected, the
plugin will choose the first available selected card in numerical order.
-
(Optional) If port forwarding is enabled, configure the port forwarding
connection:
-
Select the plugin role from the entity browser and click the
Properties tab.
-
In the Public port field, enter the external number used by
your port mapping to reach the programmer.
-
Click Apply.
