How you power up the AutoVu™ Mobility Kit depends on how power is supplied to the kit.

Procedure

To power up a kit with a hardwired system controlled by the vehicle’s ignition (green wire):

  • Leave the Power button OFF.
Power will be supplied to the system when the ignition is turned on.
    NOTE:
    • This is the preferred method to supply power and allows the unit to perform an orderly shutdown when the ignition is turned off.
    • If the ignition is turned off, you can bypass the ignition control and supply power to the AutoVu™ Mobility Kit by turning the Power button ON. This does not apply if the system is powered by an ignition-controlled cigarette lighter socket.
WARNING: If you bypass ignition control using this method, you must remember to turn the system off. Power will be drained from the battery until auto shutdown.

To power up a kit powered by a cigarette lighter socket that is controlled by the ignition:

  • Leave the Power button ON permanently.
The AutoVu™ Mobility Kit will power up when power is supplied to the cigarette lighter socket.

To power up a kit powered by a cigarette lighter socket that is not controlled by the ignition (always ON):

  • Use the Power button to turn the system ON and OFF.
WARNING: If you forget to turn the system off, power will be drained from the battery until auto shutdown.
