You must create a plugin role in Security Center to host the Flexreader™ plugin.

Before you begin

Install the Flexreader™ plugin.

What you should know

The number of cameras that the Flexreader™ plugin role can support depends on the resolution and frame rate configured for the cameras as well as the hardware of the server hosting the plugin. If you notice slow system performance, too many cameras might be added to the plugin role. In this case, you must create additional instances of the plugin on separate servers and balance the number of cameras assigned to each instance. For more information, see Number of cameras supported by the Flexreader™ plugin.
NOTE: You cannot use the Move unit tool to move cameras to another plugin instance. You must delete the cameras from one plugin instance and recreate them in the other instance.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Plugins task.
  2. In the Plugins task, click Add an entity and select Plugin.

  3. On the Specific info page, select AutoVu™ Flexreader™ as the plugin type, and then click Next.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to create the Flexreader™ plugin role.
