Before you can use your intrusion panel in Security Center, you must enroll the panel as an intrusion detection unit in Config Tool.
Before you begin
What you should know
- The DMP Intrusion Panel extension connects to the DMP Intrusion Panel using the command port. By default, the command port is 2001.
- An enrolled panel uses a random event callback port, which is set on both the panel and during the intrusion panel configuration in Security Center.
- The DMP panel must be able to receive a connection on port 2001, and to connect back
to the Intrusion Manager server on the random event port.NOTE: If an event port connection from the DMP panel fails, you do not receive events or panel state changes in Security Center. There is also no warning or feedback in Security Center or on the panel.
- Unless the Always stay connected option is enabled, the panel releases and reconnects over port 2001 as needed. If the port is not available when it is needed (to send a command, for example), commands might fail to go through. Using Always stay connected on port 2001 ensures that commands always go through but can prevent RemoteLink and other integrations from using the network command port.
- If Always stay connected is not used, the panel disconnection and reconnection can generate excessive connection events.
IMPORTANT: It is recommended to use the Integrator
Path connection where possible, as the Standard connection configuration can easily be
overwritten accidentally using service operations and other integrations.
