It is important to protect your data by scheduling regular database backups. Also, regularly clean your database to remove old data so that the database does not grow beyond its capacity. If the database is full, your integration might stop working.
Before you begin
- Get access to the Server Admin machine and log on credentials.
- Ensure you have the following privileges:
- View role properties
- Modify role properties
- Administration > Intrusion detection
What you should know
- For Security Center versions earlier than 5.11.1, when an expansion server is using the
database on the main server, a backup of that database does not include the configuration
files for the expansion server.
As a workaround, create a folder called SecurityCenterBackup on the C: drive of the expansion server. Backing up the database copies the configuration files of the expansion server into the local folder.
- The Intrusion Manager role database contains event notifications from the DMP Intrusion Panels.
- The Directory database contains the entities and their configuration, and custom events.
- It is a best practice to schedule all database maintenance during non-peak hours.
