You can use message broker data sources to ingest ALPR data from cloud-based ALPR
providers that have partnered with your organization. This is done using an sFTP
server.
Before you begin
Ensure you have configured a cloud infrastructure accessible from the plugin
server.
What you should know
The messsage broker works differently compared to other types of data sources in the
Genetec™ Third-Party ALPR. Rather than taking all ALPR reads from all cameras and
then checking the hotlists for hits, it exports the hotlists to an external system. The
external system then checks the ALPR reads in the external system and then sends only hits
back to the plugin server.
Procedure
-
Enable data source by activating the Enabled check box.
-
Enter a name for the data source.
-
From the Message broker type menu, select the message broker
type that corresponds to your Genetec cloud environment.
-
In the Tenant ID field, enter the name of the tenant for which
you want to obtain data. The cloud infrastructure can be used by many tenants at the same
time.
-
In the Cities configuration service URL field, enter the
location where the plugin gets the information needed to connect to the message
broker.
-
If your authentication type is local, select the Allow self signed
certificates check box.
NOTE: Using a message broker data source is rarely necessary.
-
In the Credentials section, click Add
() or Edit
() and then enter the
Client ID and Client Secret associated
with your Cities Configuration Service that you created when deploying the cloud
infrastructure.
-
If you need to use geofences to map hits and reads to virtual ALPR units, enable the
Use virtual ALPR units per geofence check box. Reads and hits are
attached to the virtual ALPR units based on the reads location.
-
Click Apply.
