Before you configure the imported intrusion detection areas in Security Center, configure the sample access rules with which you can test your Synergis™ IX system.

What you should know

An access rule entity defines a list of cardholders who are granted or denied access based on a schedule. Access rules apply to secured areas and doors for entry and exit, or to intrusion detection areas for arming and disarming.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool homepage, open the Access control task, and click the Access rules view.
  2. Click Add access rule ().
    Create a Sample access control access rule for secured areas.
  3. Select the newly created sample access rule and click the Properties tab.
  4. Click () on the Properties page and add the Sample cardholder group.

  5. Click Add access rule () and create a Sample intrusion detection rule for arming and disarming the intrusion detection areas, then click Apply.
  6. Select the newly created Sample intrusion detection rule and click Properties.
  7. From Properties page, click (), add the Installer cardholder group and the Sample cardholder group, then click Apply.

  8. From the Config Tool homepage, open the Area view task.
  9. Select a secured area, click the Properties tab.
  10. Under the Access rules section, click Add access rule (), select the Sample access control access rule, then click Apply.

  11. Repeat the previous steps to add the Sample access control access rule to each secured area.
