To connect the Synergis™ IX controllers to a Synergis™ Cloud Link unit, you must enroll
them in the Synergis™ Appliance Portal.
What you should know
A Synergis IX controller can also be enrolled on a Synergis Cloud Link unit that was
already added to an Access Manager role.
Procedure
-
Log on to the Synergis Cloud Link unit.
-
Click on .
NOTE: Cloning is not supported for the Synergis IX controllers. Downstream modules
connected to the Synergis IX controllers cannot be configured from the Synergis
Appliance Portal. They must be configured from the Synergis™ IX Portal.
-
At the top of the Hardware column, click
.
-
In the Add hardware dialog box, set Hardware
type to Synergis IX and enter the rest of the module properties.
Leave the
HTTPS public key field blank. This field is
automatically filled after Synergis Cloud Link connects to the Synergis IX controller,
which takes about 1 minute.
Best Practice: Ensure that the Unit name matches the
name given to the controller in the Synergis IX Portal. The unit name must not contain
any special
characters.
NOTE: In terms of Synergis™ Softwire
integration, there is no difference between SY-SIX-CTRL-DIN and SY-SIX-CTRL-DIN-IP
controllers. To enroll an SY-SIX-CTRL-DIN-IP controller, select SY-SIX-CTRL-DIN as the
Model type.
-
Click Save.
The hardware type, channel, and interface module you added are displayed in the
hardware tree.
NOTE: If your Synergis Cloud Link unit runs Synergis Softwire 11.3.3 or
later, you can click the IP address of the controller to open the Synergis IX Portal in
a new tab. However, if the Synergis IX certificate is self-signed, then the Synergis IX
Portal is not accessible from the Synergis Appliance Portal opened in Config
Tool.
