To manage access to MCE floor landings, you must associate a reader from your Security Center system with a destination input device.

What you should know

When the Turnstile option is turned on, cardholders are brought to a specific floor when they swipe their card at a destination input device. For this feature to work, cardholders must be assigned a home floor.

Procedure

  1. From the home page in Config Tool, open the Plugins task.
  2. Click the Properties tab.
Properties page of destination input device for MCE Sentry
  3. In the Configuration section, configure the following:
    Reader ID
This field displays the reader ID that was assigned to the destination input device when it was added to the plugin. If required, the ID can be changed by entering a unique number between 1 and 127.
    Readers
To associate a reader from your Security Center system with the selected destination input device, click Add (), select a reader, then click OK.
NOTE: The reader must be associated with a door in Security Center. If it is not, you will not receive events.
    Reader location
If the reader is located on a landing, select Hallway from the list. If the reader is located inside an elevator, select an MCE Sentry elevator car from the list.
    Landing
Select the MCE floor marking related to the landing.
NOTE: This setting is only displayed if Hallway is selected from the Reader location list.
    Turnstile
To have cardholders brought directly to their home floor automatically after swiping their card at a reader, turn on the Turnstile option.
NOTE: This setting is only displayed if Hallway is selected from the Reader location list.
  4. Click Apply.
